Detailed itinerary:
Day 01: Chandigarh to Shimla
Arrive at Chandigarh airport/ railway station and meet us. Get ready to hit the roads and begin your transfer from Chandigarh to Shimla. Arrive at Shimla and check in at the hotel. Evening visit the local exciting areas including Shimla Mall, Kalibari, Christ Church, Lakkar Bazar, Scandal Point. Dinner & Overnight stay at Shimla Hotel.
Day 02: Shimla to Sangla (160 KMS/5 HRS)
Morning breakfast and check out from Shimla hotel for your transfer to Sangla. Travel along the Sutlej River till Sangla via Karcham Bridge. Enroute visit Narkanda, Kufri, Fagu and many more stunning views on and off the road. Overnight stay and dinner in Sangla hotel.
Day 03: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa (70 KMS)
Check out after breakfast and visit the Chitkul village (the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border) at a distance of 20 km from Sangla. This village lies on the right bank of River Baspa. You can enjoy some’Pahadon Wali Maggi’ sitting by the riverside of Baspa River and make it a moment! Head to ‘Chitkul Maathi’ also known as ‘Mata Devi’ – the most popular attraction of this village is the temple of local goddess and then drive towards Kalpa –the District Headquarter of Kinnar. Visit Buddhist Gompa – ccHu Bu Lan Kar*, Rogi Village, Suicide Point, Apple Garden, Narayana xTemple. Enjoy the beauty of Kinnaur Kailash Peaks. Dinner & Overnight stay at Kalpa Hotel.
Day 04: Kalpa to Nako (117 KMS)
Have breakfast in the morning and leave for Nako passing through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River. Enroute visit the Nako Lake – Kinnaur’s most picturesque Hamlets, and Nako Monastery. Dinner and overnight stay at Nako.
Day 05: Nako to Tabo (63 KMS) & Transfer to Kaza
Enjoy your morning breakfast and depart for Tabo (very mystical village which has a history of more than 1,025 years) to get an insight into the life of villagers and visit the nearby caves at Tabo, Tabo Village, Tabo Monastery (also known as the “Ajanta of the Himalayas”) renowned for its exquisite murals and ancient scriptures. Proceed towards the Gue Village, 8 kms off the main track, where you can experience the scenic view of the Gue Monastery and a 500 year old mummy sitting with skin and nails intact. After that we’ll move towards Kaza (Headquarter of Spiti) via Dhankar Monastery & Pin Valley. Diner and overnight stay will be at Kaza.
Day 06: Kaza Local – Hikkim-Komic- Langza
Get ready for a full day excursion around Kaza. Visit the famous Key Monastery which is build on a mountain hill. it was founded by Dromtön, a pupil of the famous teacher, Atisha, in the 11th century. Post Key we will visit Kibber Village via Chicham Bridge, which is famous for spotting Snow Leopards and for being the highest village in Asia, located at a height of 18,000 feet above the Sea level. Explore the Highest Post-Office of the World, Hikkim at (14,567ft) where you can post the letters to your loved ones. Post that, have lunch at Komic, the World’s Highest Restaurant followed by the visit to Langza village for its giant Buddha statue overlooking the village. Dinner & overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 07: Kaza – Chandratal (75 KMS) Via Kunzum Pass
After completing breakfast, visit the Kunzum Pass, one of the highest motorable passes across the Kunzum range at an altitude of 4551mts. It serves as an entrance pass to the Spiti valley from Lahul. Head towards to Chandratal to spend the beautiful evening at the campsite gazing the stars. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at the camp equipped with camping equipment including tents, high altitude sleeping bags / blankets and a comfortable mattress.
Day 08: Chandratal to Manali (200 KMS)
Wake up early in the morning to sense the beauty of the mystical and beautiful lake – Chandratal (meaning Moon Lake) located at a height of 14,100 feet. Enjoy your breakfast in the striking backdrop and in the afternoon leave for Manali enroute visiting the Batal, Atal Tunnel, Palchan, Nehru kund. Check in, dinner and overnight stay at Manali Hotel.
Day 09: Manali to Chandigarh drop (310 KMS)
After breakfast check out from Manali Hotel and enroute visit Kulu and finally drop to Chandigarh Airport/ Railway Station for your journey back to home!
